MSRplans founder Michael Robbins began stuffing envelopes for his father’s investor relations (IR) firm in the early 1980s. As a teenager in the late 1980s, Michael Robbins began formally working at his dad’s company, The Investment Reporter, which transitioned into a monthly publication on Nasdaq stocks. Michael continued serving The Investment Reporter during college, and then joined a Boulder, Colorado-based investor relations agency in the mid-1990s. From there he joined one the nation’s top 10 IR firms in New York City in the late 90s. He started a hedge fund a few years later, started an IR firm downunder, and then started a new dot-com capturing about half of Australia’s online radio market. Soon after, he returned to the States and began developing business plans in 2002. He had already developed several business plans over the prior four years. Michael Robbins primarily worked for the largest business plan writing agency in the early 2000s. Later in the decade, he formalized MSRplans and went solo. Over the next decade, he aligned with several other agencies and retained a love for helping companies express their stories in a way that gives investors confidence.
